Landscape and Fauna Itinerary
Located at the southern end of the Caleri peninsula, which separates the sea from the Caleri lagoon, the Garden, which covers an area of 44 hectares, is characterised by the presence of a remarkable variety of habitats, from the lagoon to the dunes and the beach. The flora is very rich in species, including some rare endemisms such as the Tommasini cornflower and the Salicornia veneta. These undisturbed environments are frequented by numerous animals: among the birds we can mention the elusive nightjar and the colourful bee-eater, among the amphibians the extremely rare pelobate fosco, of which the Garden hosts the only population in Veneto, and among the reptiles the marsh tortoise should not be forgotten.
